Youth Conservatory
We will continue to monitor the COVID 19 pandemic closely.NOVA is proud to welcome DeLaney Hardy Ray to the team as the new Youth Conservatory Director.
DeLaney earned a degree in Theater Performance and is a well respected teacher, writer, actress, and director. She has been volunteering with the youth programs at NOVA Center for over 9 years. She has taught a wide variety of ages from Kindergarten on up. Some of the subjects she has taught are how to develop a character and how to write, produce, and perform a play. DeLaney uses creative teaching techniques to help her students excel. She helps them grow by using storytelling, improvisation, and visual imagery to advance their skills.
more about DeLaney
DeLaney Hardy Ray, Youth Conservatory Director and Dodie Rife,
Managing Producer of NOVA Center for the Performing Arts,
receive a $3500 grant from Mission Endowment Trust of American
Lutheran Church, Billings, Montana.
Presenting the
check and representing the American Lutheran Church is Nancy
Thorson. Starting in 1985 the Trust was established to create
a permanent fund that will continue in perpetuity to annually
distribute 5% of its balance for doing God's work in our
community. Over the last 36 years that trust has grown. Ten
percent of that total automatically goes to the church's
annual budget. The rest is distributed in the form of
scholarships and grants to community causes or church related
organizations. .
Act out and
dream big!
At the NOVA Youth Conservatory,
students ages 5 to 18 develop their talents, perform in
productions, and gain the confidence to succeed—all in a
comfortable, creative, and fun environment.
Learn
Youth Conservatory classes are exciting,
engaging, and challenging. Courses such as acting, dance, and
singing offer something for every student’s taste and
schedule. Youth Conservatory teachers are active in theater &
dance. They understand and enjoy working with young people.
Excel
The Youth Conservatory students
are encouraged to excel. At NOVA we believe that youth have
the potential to do great things and strive to create chances
and opportunities for them to succeed and excel.
Advance
The Young Conservatory teaches
more than just acting. Students will learn to incorporate the
skills of theater into their everyday lives, developing
concentration, imagination, professionalism, character, and
self-confidence along the way.
Perform
The Young Conservatory stages
five public productions a year. The plays are chosen for young
actors to shine. Youth Conservatory students also have the
opportunity to audition for our adult shows, when appropriate.
“Since being involved at NOVA, my daughter has opened
up, is less shy. More sure of herself and her abilities. I
can’t begin to explain the change in her. Thank you for being
so wonderful. I feel like NOVA is our extended family.” —
